Vegan Kortej was established on March 6, 2021 as an independent activist group calling on all rights-based movements to fight against speciesism.
Vegan Kortej is having a vegan pride, a first on June 19-20. Vegan Kortej made a call to vegan pride as the following.
Vegan Kortej: The World Would Be So Much More Better, If Queers Were Vegan!
Vegan Kortej announced the VEGAN PRIDE event series, which will be held for the first time in Turkey, as follows:
“As Vegan Kortej, we place speciesism on the same political ground with all discriminations such as sexism, racism, LGBTIQA+ phobia, and look at all rights-based justice searches from an intersectional window. We will keep fighting to question and make other people question the legal ground and legitimacy of the dominant ideologies and discourses that manipulate people’s perceptions in the context of speciesism. We will take our place in vegan places by adding the voices of non-human animals to their voices by not leaving other pursuits for rights and justice. Because we are aware that; No exploitation, no form of violence can be considered separately from each other. We dream of a classless, unlimited, equal, free, queer vegan world! In the pride month, we would like to share the dream of this world and that it can actually be a reality beyond a dream with everyone, especially with all the clubs. WE KNOW: The World Would Be So Much Better , If Queers Were Vegan!”
Vegan Pride event series will be held on 19-20 June with amazing vegan queers. Çağlar Almendi, Berat Bebek, Semih Özkarakaş, Yasemin Bahar, Iris Mozalar, Özge Özgüner, Arzu Bulut, Birol Koyuncu, Melika and İris are the guests of Vegan Pride’s weekend events. Vegan queers will express the intersectionality of the animal rights movement and the LGBTIQA+ movement, and why the LGBTIQA+ movement should fight against speciesism, both by sharing their experiences and with their ideas.
